| Audrey was on the day shift. She had gained a few pounds, but even that made her feel weird. It was a constant reminder that she couldn't do this, she just didn't know how. But she knew that she had to try anyway, and she knew she'd at least try. Unfortunately, that didn't save her from rude custermers. "Hey!" yelled the guy in the backseat. "You could've gone then. That was a YELLOW LIGHT!" Audrey rolled her eyes. "If you don't like my driving, you're more than welcme to leave." she said, restraining herself from yelling. "Hey, no need to get smart with me," warned the guy. Audrey ignored that. This guy was going all the way across town, so it took about 30 minutes. And the guy was a real jerk, too. When he finally paid and left, she went back to downtown, but no one else called her. She liked the peace so she could think about her situation. She had no idea how she could support a baby on a taxi driver's salary, but they'd have to find a way. She'd need to get a crib and stuff, but not yet. She'd wait a while on that one. Also, there was the problem of what to name it. She didn't want to go see if it was a boy or a girl. That made it seem more real, and she was scared of it. So what the heck would they name their child? She'd think a while on that one too. Once her shift ended, she headed back to the apartment. | |
